The federal tax credit for windows, exterior doors and insulation is available again for 2013 and retroactively for 2012. 10% of the purchase price of a project up to $200 is available for windows while the tax credit for exterior doors and insulation is 10% of the purchase price up to $500; Installation costs are not included. Only windows, insulation and exterior doors that meet ENERGY STAR® ratings are eligible for the tax credit. All Comfort Windows qualify, all insulation projects qualify and ask about our qualifying exterior doors.
There is a lifetime limit of $500 for insulation and exterior doors and $200 for windows in total credits a homeowner can claim. If you have claimed less than $500 in previous years, you are eligible for the difference up to the $200 cap for windows and $500 for exterior doors.
Comfort is not responsible for information given in error, please consult your tax advisor for additional information and to determine how much you may qualify for in 2012 or 2013.
